In Outlign, you can control how often you receive email notifications for project updates. Rather than managing lots of individual notification types, we keep things simple by letting you choose how frequently you’re notified.
This helps ensure you don’t miss important updates, while still giving you flexibility over how much comes through. There is no global setting for changing notification preferences across a team, so each person must manage their own settings.
Step 1: Go to your user settings
Inside your profile settings, scroll to the Email Notifications section. You’ll see four options:
Immediate: Get an email the moment you’re notified on a task or message. Ideal for real-time updates.
Hourly: Receive a single email every hour that bundles all updates into one digest.
Daily: Get one email per day with a full summary of all updates across your projects.
In Asia-Pacific, this email arrives in the morning.
In the US, UK, and Europe, it’s sent in the afternoon.
Never: You won’t receive any update emails, only critical system messages (such as project invites or account changes).
A quick note on how notifications work
Outlign is designed to keep things simple and reliable. Clients receive notifications only for items they’re directly involved in, such as when they’re tagged, assigned, or included in a thread.
Why? Because turning off certain notifications can sometimes mean missing something important when it matters most.
If you’re finding notifications too frequent, switching to Hourly or Daily is usually the best option. These settings combine all activity into a single email, so you stay informed without being overwhelmed.
Step 2: Save your changes
Once you’ve selected your preferred option, scroll down and click “Save Profile” to apply the new settings.
Your email preferences will be updated immediately.
