Create a task board: For Agencies
Task boards are perfect for retainer clients or smaller, short projects or one-off tasks. They can also be used on agile-style projects which have more complexity.
1. Create your project
- Hit 'New Project'
- Select 'Board' as your project type
- Hit 'Create' to move to the next setup screen
Outlign will create a project home space where you can view active tasks, and tasks assigned to you or you can + add a new task. That's the next action we will focus on.
2. Create your task board
- Either Select 'add a new task' or Board to see the task board
- You'll want to go ahead and name your columns and then add your tasks for each column.
- You can easily assign people to a Task or add a due date simply by hovering on the card. You can also edit the task title or copy a link to the card for easy sharing.
- And then simply select the person your want to assign the task to;
5. Adding detail and editing to-dos
- To Add a description for your to-do, click on the card to enter the detailed view
- The detailed view will slide in and you can now start to enter your details for the task
- Hit 'Save' and the task will now become active
6. Adding an approval to a task
To set an approval on a task;
- Select the three-dot menu on the right hand side of the screen
- Select 'set as Needs Approval'
- Your task should now show an approve button, which both your team and the client can see.
- When your task reaches the moment when approval is needed, just ask the client to approve the task by pressing the green approve button
- They will be prompted with a approval dialogue modal to ensure they are clear on the sign-off terms
7. Invite the people to your project
Make sure the right people on your crew and on your client's team have access to this project, to do this:
- Navigate up to the team avatars in the right-hand corner
Click on 'Invite someone' — you can do this to add people from your internal team or tab across to the client team to invite clients
Note: Even if a member has been added to your agency team they will still need to be added to the individual project to see it.
