Yes, freelancer users are still considered part of your agency team inside Outlign. Because they contribute to project work in the same way your internal team does, they count as a billable seat on your plan.
Freelancers are often actively involved in the creation and delivery of client work, for example viewing tasks, updating progress, collaborating with your team, and contributing to billable outputs.Because of this, they function just like other agency-side team members, so they fall under the same billing structure.
The “Freelancer” role is designed to give you extra control over what they can see and access.
The main difference today is access restriction, not billing:
You can limit what clients or projects they can see
You can restrict access to sensitive or internal-only work
You can customise their permissions more tightly than full-time team members
But in terms of billing, they are still treated as standard seated users.
